Mission Trip Follows the Storm

Our intergenerational mission trip enters its seventh year and is planning its eighth trip this August 3rd - 9th.   Seven years ago our congregation responded to a tornado disaster affecting a member’s family in Hoisington, Kansas, and we've been following the storms ever since.

Here’s where we’ve been:
            2002 Hoisington, Kansas - F4 Tornado
            2003 Jackson, Tn - F3 Tornado
            2004 Marengo, In - F3 Tornado (demolition)
2005 Marengo, In - same tornado (construction)
2005 D’Iberville, Miss. - Hurricane Katrina (Presbyterian Disaster Assistance)
            2006 Evansville, In - F2 Tornado
2007 Missouri Valley, Ia - Flood disaster relief
The 2008 trip is being planned.  We’re watching the weather to see where we can be of assistance.  The mission trip is open to High School youth and adults who want to serve God with very tangible expressions of compassion to people in need.
